Scented candles
Research done by the Sense of Smell Institute, www.senseofsmell.org,
confirms that the smell of peppermint positively affected performance
in athletes. They also reported that when a vanilla-like fragrance was
administered to patients having MRI scans the patients were less anxious
and were far more able to complete the scan. Are you feeling a little
sad? Try burning a candle laced with the fragrance of white sage.
The state of alertness and job performance are related to the efficiency
of those receiving occasional sniffs of peppermint while they are performing
sustained attention tasks. Their effectiveness improved significantly.
The Sense of Smell Institute, www.senseofsmell.org, also states that
attitudes about jobs are improved by getting occasional whiffs of peppermint.
Scented candles that reduce stress are those combined with the scent
of vanilla, lavender, vanilla, and cinnamon. If one is feeling a bit
worn down and needs a quick pick-me-up, then try mandarin orange and
jasmine, citrus and lemongrass or grapefruit and verbena. For a stronger
scent try triple scented candles. In these candles there is three times
the fragrance than in an ordinary scented candle.
