Candles FAQs
What makes candles so popular?
Candles are one of the most enjoyable luxury items available to those
with a limited budget. They are gorgeous and magical. They spawn a special
warmth and ambiance while infusing the home with color and fragrance.
How does one make a candle?
Today, most candles are made through the timeless but ageless process
of placing a cotton wick into wax, which is then dipped, pressed, drawn,
molded, or extruded into the desired shape.
What types of waxes are used in candles?
The most commonly used candle wax is made from petroleum into a substance
called paraffin. Beeswax and soy bean oils are also used to make candles.
How long can I burn a candle?
Burn times vary from candle to candle. Always extinguish a candle if
the flame gets too close to the holder or container. To be completely
safe, stop using a candle when two inches of wax remains or one-half
inch if in a container or jar.
